Quote:Advocates flaunt their guns to support rifle-totin' teen
On April 13, a high school student named Sean M. Combs walked through downtown Birmingham, Michigan, with an M-1 rifle strapped to his back — apparently just because he thought he could legally. He was arrested, though, and charged with brandishing a weapon, obstructing police, and disturbing the peace — accusations that have local gun advocates, uh, up in arms. On Monday, they marched, carrying guns, into the city's commission chambers to protest the charges against the 18-year-old, arguing that Combs has legal right, under "open carry" laws, to carry a firearm in public. Police Chief Don Studt conceded that Combs was exercising his constitutional right, but said he was also "creating a disturbance."

The student was within his rights, imo.
The blonde is skirting some legal gray area with her finger by the trigger like that.
Is that an AR-Butterface?

The blonde is hot but because this is such an important point I voted for the student.
The only things I want are a full head of hair and a sack I don't sit on.

Uh, take your eyes off her cleavage and look again, her finger is exactly where it belongs, along the reciever, above the trigger.
While the blonde is hot, I voted for the student. Edited by woodburyhl on Jun 13, 2012 at 11:19 AM

Take a look where she's at. Clearly that would be considered brandishing a weapon here.
If someone were to walking towards you, carrying a gun in that manor, would you consider it a threat or a statement?

I can imagine the student being questioned (respectfully).....but arrested is definitely a violation of his right to keep AND BEAR arms.

Why is it ok to be questioned for doing something that is legal? I guess you'd have no problem with being pulled over while riding just to be questioned because people use motorcycles to do illegal things also?

I guess I'm in a minority here...AGAIN... I respect the 2nd Amendment but walking down a street in any major (or minor) city in the US with a military type weapon slung over your shoulder is not good practice. I respect his right to own, use it within legal bounds, but don't think he's using good thinking walking thru a downtown area in a city with it slung over his shoulder. Something doesn't have to be directly against the law to be illegal. That's why their are law such as endangerment and disturbing the peace on the books.
By the way, yes, I've carried on and off for years, almost all the time now, have had licenses in a couple of states, and now live in a state that will soon join the open carry states...IF... you have a conceal license. I still would use common sense and not march thru Bricktown with my hunting rifle slung over my shoulder.
Get all the facts first...Then distort them as you please...

Right now in Buffalo, NY they are trying to locate a trauma doctor that shot and killed a woman at the county hospital. Some type of domestic. Cops and helicopters are flying all over the place. Shame, he just wrecked a good career.
You know those statistics about how doctors kill more people than guns? I wonder how they will log this one in.

They are not going to put more on the doctors.
