I wish I could do a 3.5 rating. These are a good solid MC tire. For me I tended to break them loose too easily in turns when I excelerated. It happened on dry pavement and the feeling of your bake tire breaking loose in a turn is not reassuring. Several others on IA have noticed this. Also, unlike others here, I only got between 7 and 7.5k out of the back tire, so tire life was not great for me either. Still, It is a reasonable tire choice is you don't ride too hard. For me, I think I will stick with DS tires on my VS1400 from now on. But this tire seems to work for a lot of people.

I have 97,700 miles on my 1400 Intruder Chopper in 2.5 years.
I get 32,000 miles cruising on my 880's
or 23,000 miles city use.
Bridgestones only go 12,000 miles max.
The bike handles significantly better with the Metzler 880's.
I always replace both front and rear together, even though the front tire is
not worn out. Love em !!!

Changed to Metzelers after 30k on Dunlops. What a difference. No more lateral oscillations on a steel bridge grate; bike takes a line that feels natural...the Dunlops always felt mis-matched on a curve. Very happy with the 880s.

Love it! I had a set on my XV750 and they preformed flawlessly so when it was time to replace the back tire on my 1500 again I went Metzler and have no regrets.

These tires smooth out the road and seem to handle well, haven't rode in the rain
but i hear they handle good, i will say they don't follow all those little line's in the road, so far i rate them very good, and they seem to give me more trust in cornering.

Excellent tire, in my opinion. At least for a heavy cruiser. Over 7k miles on this set and they are wearing perfectly and have plenty of tread left. They have a nice rounded profile and make rolling the bike into a turn as smooth as glass. The more "boxy" OEM Bridgestones required a little coaxing to get the bike leaned over. I don't necessarily subscribe to the maximum air pressure philosophy though. I find over 40 pounds to make for a harsh ride. So far this has worked for me. Like I said, no wear problems. I've heard I can buy a better "wet traction" tire, but I can say I rode 220 miles on Interstate and back roads in a torrential downpour and the Metzelers performed flawlessly with no squirreliness or hydroplaning even though it rained so hard that visibility was diminished at times to the point that cages were pulling over to wait it out. I'm sold on the Metzelers and would buy another set.

Put ME880 WWW on the other day & noticed the difference immediately. The bike did not grab every little groove in the pavement. They seem to grip the road well while cornering better than the factory IRC's.

Just put one on rear, 150/90/15
Tire design is more rounded than the stock, making turning and curves much smoother. All in all handling and tracking much smoother. I noticed it puts me a little higher in the saddle, not much. When it's time for the front, I'll be looking into a Metzeler

I've been running 880s for over year and a half with over 14k front and rear. For me the rear 880 has lasted longer than expected, it is starting to show wear in the center but with plenty left. The front is not showing wear for a tire with over 14k on it. Excellent grip compaired to the stock Dunlop.

I have been running Metzeler on all of my bikes for years. Won't use anything else. Good price, great mileage, good looking, and most importantly they stick. ME880 is my only choice, if they don't have it in stock they order it and I just have to wait.
